Solosmasthana Rajamaha Vihara declared a sacred area

The historic Solosmasthana Rajamaha Vihara and its land was declared a sacred area on Sunday (20) at an event where Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was the chief guest. 

 
The Prime Minister handed over the credentials of the proclamation to Chief Incumbent of Solosmathana Rajamaha Vihara and Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Ven. Wendaruwe Sri Upali Thera.   

State Ministers- Siripala Gamlath, Roshan Ranasinghe and several senior officials including Polonnaruwa District Secretary W. A. Dharmasiri were present at the occasion.
