Three buses transporting voters illegally from Norochcholai to Mullaitivu were seized and the crew of the buses were arrested by Norochcholai Police during a raid at Alankudawa area.   
The drivers and their helpers in custody were between 25 and 45 years of age and residents of Ethukala, Kalpitiya and Mampuriya areas.   
OIC Norochcholai Police said the suspects were released on police bail and ordered to appear before the Kalpitiya magistrate.
Meanwhile, a candidate of a political party contesting the election for the Puttalam District was arrested by Kalpitiya Police when distributing money among voters.   
During the raid, the police seized cash worth Rs. 92,000 which he had in his possession.
