Two doctors contract Covid virus at Welikanda

Two doctors attached to the Welikanda Covid-19 Treatment Centre were found to have contracted the virus by yesterday, Director of the Polonnaruwa General Hospital Dr Sampath Indika Kumara said.  He said that the two doctors from Trincomalee had reported for duty at the Welikanda Treatment Centre on Friday (25), and that they were now under treatment at the hospital.   

The Hospital Director said ten others on the staff of the treatment centre, who had been closely associated with the two doctors were placed under isolation and that several others were to be isolated as well.
