Würth Lanka (pvt) Ltd. and Technipreneurs Lanka PPP conduct train the trainer programme at VTA

Technipreneurs Lanka PPP (Public Private Partnership), which is co-funded by Würth Lanka(pvt) Ltd/ and the German Development Bank DEG/KfW,  completed its Training of the Trainers program to train 20 VTA trainers.
The training was conducted from 25th June 2020 to 3rd July 2020  by Lasantha Abeywickrama and Dr. Chamara Bandara at the K-Tec Vocational Training Center in Orugodawatte .The awarding of certificates for the trainers who participated in the Training of the Trainers program was next 


on the agenda. Training of the Trainers is a part of Technipreneurs Lanka’s sustainability plan to ensure the continuity of  the Technipreneurs training at the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka after the pilot project was completed in September 2020,

Rohan Amirthiah Managing Director of  Würth Lanka (pvt)Ltd, in the presence of  Josef Tschoep, Head of Vocational Training from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka), handed over technical training equipment, inclusive of tools together with computer hardware, to Damitha  Wickramasinghe,Chairman of the Vocational Training Authority (VTA). Amirthiah thanked the VTA for their continued support in the Technipreneurs Project. He further noted that he was impressed with the VTA’s island-wide coverage of institutes and noted that VTA was successful in  catering to Sri Lanka’s need of the hour of vocational training.  Amirthiah thanked AHK Sri Lanka for partnering up for the certification of the Technipreneurs. He further stated that the project was progressing satisfactorily and that plans were underway to start training of the 2nd batch shortly.


During the event, Mr. Josef Tschoep, on behalf of Chief Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka, Andreas Hergenroether, emphasized on the importance of industry-driven, practical-oriented vocational training and upskilling. He expressed his pleasure to be a certification partner for the project, thereby providing quality assurance of German TVET-based standards, and welcomed prospective co-operation between AHK Sri Lanka, the industry and other stakeholders.
