The competition also provides a window for those individuals and organisations to receive international recognition for local ICT products and services.

National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022 Chairman Sanharsha Jayatissa commenting on the event said, “I am honoured to chair the National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022, as it is the most prestigious award ceremony in Sri Lanka’s ICT industry. National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022 Chief Judge Geethapriya Tillekeratne said, “I have been Chief Judge at the National ICT Awards for number of years and I have seen how the ICT industry and the awards have grown. I am honoured and I look forward to the award ceremony and I hope to see an even bigger array of participants than I have in past years.”

Each year, the competition has seen a significant increase in participants, both organisations and individuals. The National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022 is the flagship event of BCS Sri Lanka Section and has created a unique platform to help elevate the ICT industry in Sri Lanka to international standards. Previous nominees from the National ICT Awards – NBQSA have competed at the ASIA Pacific ICT Awards and reached incredible heights with recognition of the highest order.

BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, Sri Lanka Section Chairman Vajeendra S. Kandegamage said, “As the foremost Chartered IT professional body in Sri Lanka, one of our efforts is striving to facilitate the quality improvements in the products and services created by Sri Lankans. We recognise best quality ICT products and services created by them and facilitate business matching and investment promotions for local ICT products and companies. This greatest effort came in the form of the National ICT Awards, which evolved over the years. The winners are eligible to participate in the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards directly. We intend to further expand these activities at this critical juncture since we believe Sri Lanka’s future could be determined by the growth of the ICT industry.”
