The sixth National Symposium on Air Quality Management emphasized the need of taking firm measures to facilitate environment conservation and protection to create a sustainable future.
In his keynote address, President Maithripala Sirisena expressed these views at the Symposium held at Waters Edge, Battaramulla recently.
The first copy of the action plan for clean air in 2025 was presented to the President during the event.
Surendra Perera, representing Drivegreen, in his presentation stressed the importance of emission tests and explained how customers can benefit in terms of fuel saving by taking an emission test from Drivegreen. Emission tests help preserve the environment and accurate emission testing reporting to facilitate this process, he said.

National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry Director Planning Dr. M.M.S.S.B. Yalegama said that Sri Lanka’s vehicle emission testing programme was an exemplary project within the region and that the public-private partnership (PPP) model applied in implementing this programme over the past eight years is one of the key success factors contributing to such
an outcome.
The highly successful panel discussion emphasized on different facets of emission testing and concluded that emission testing will tremendously benefit Sri Lanka and its people in future in terms of saving its air water and soil.
Science, Technology and Research Minister Susil Premajayantha, Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and a number of foreign delegates representing donor agencies as well as UN envoys were present at the occasion.
