Holcim Lanka changes to Insee Cement

Sri Lanka’s most popular cement manufacturer, Holcim (Lanka) Limited was acquired by the Thailand–based ready-mixed concrete manufacturing company, Siam City Concrete Company Limited, a subsidiary of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited, it was announced by the company on 1st December 2016. 


The Holcim range of products in future will be marketed under the brand name ‘Insee cement.’ 
The company will maintain its 30 years heritage by continuing to market ‘Sanstha’ cement, the nation’s favourite and ‘Mahaweli Marine’, another popular brand, for individual home builders. The newly acquired Company will also introduce Insee Pro, Insee Pro Plus and Insee Extra to cater to the needs of large infrastructure projects. 
Insee is a leading cement manufacturer in Southeast Asia and was founded in 1969 in Thailand. The Company manufactures Insee branded cement, construction aggregates and solutions which are marketed in Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, in addition to Thailand where it is a market leader.    
Health and safety has always been a priority at Insee and the acquisition has brought this important criteria to Sri Lanka. The Company markets Insee Extra Cement as well as Sanstha cement, both emission controlled green cements, contributing to minimize up to 7 kilos of Carbon Dioxide gas per bag of cement.
