Holmes Pollard & Stott (HP&S) has won the Sumathi Award for Best Television Commercial. It received this accolade at the Sumathi Awards 2023 for its corporate TV commercial for Bank of Ceylon. This is the latest in a string of creative awards won by the agency.
The award-winning commercial revolves around the theme, ‘Moving Forward with Modernization.’ Through a family setting, it depicts Bank of Ceylon as a caring parental figure that meets the aspirations of future generations. It also conveys the warmth and closeness between the bank and the people of Sri Lanka.
“The secret of our success is being relevant and focused,” noted the Chairman of HP&S, Pradeep Amirthanayagam. He said the accolades are a fitting tribute to all the clients who have entrusted their brands to them. “They placed their trust in us, and we turned their businesses into success stories,” he added
The agency has managed brands from across the corporate spectrum. These range from banking & finance, healthcare, energy and insurance to FMCG, personal care, automobiles, aviation and construction. Among its enviable portfolio of clients are listed blue chip companies.
Over the years, HP&S has launched, nurtured and repositioned a number of breakthrough brands. They were propelled to the top through creative and effective campaigns. HP&S was the first agency to pitch in Sinhala. It also created the first animated TV ad, which was part of an award-winning campaign of the year.
In addition, it helped launch several start-ups that went on to make it big. Among them were Union Bank, CBNsat (known today as Dialog TV), Newdale Yoghurt and Maliban Full Cream Milk .
