Keshara Minerals & Chemicals (Pvt) Ltd won the Gold Award in the minerals and allied products category at the Industrial Excellence Awards organized by the Industrial Development Board (IDB). 

Keshara Minerals & Chemicals is a subsidiary of the Keshara Group of Companies, a leading business chain in the Central Province. 

The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of the President and former Minister of Industry Wimal Weerawansa at the Water’s Edge Hotel. 

Jeevamal Jayawardena started his journey in Entrepreneurship in 1994 with two employees under the name Keshara Enterprises. For the first time in the island, powdered lime was introduced, turning the traditional lime industry upside down. In 2002, the business transformed into a private company, earning SLS certification for the island’s first production of powdered limeon 2004/03/04.

The company specializes in technologically and strategically updating the business as well as eco-friendly manufacturing using silo and bulker tanks to minimize the use of polythene in packaging and distribution. Jayawardena, Chairman, Keshara Group of Companies, has a vision to create a socially responsible business. 
Keshara Group hopes to further expand its business in the future and strengthen the local economy. Keshara Powdered Lime, Keshara Skim Coat, Keshara Tile Master Group’s flagship products, have introduced a new light to agriculture by introducing the Keshara Dolomite package to enrich the island’s farmlands. Keshara products, which have won numerous awards, including the Central Provincial Star Awards, are available at building materials and agro products outlets island wide.
