SriLankan Cares spreads Christmas spirit at Maharagama CCC Home

SriLankan Cares, the CSR arm of SriLankan Airlines, spreading the Christmas spirit and joys of the season, donated packs of essential items among the occupants of CCC Home, Maharagama. 


CCC Home is a transit residence for cancer outpatients and their caregivers who cannot afford to live in outside accommodation or travel long distance to and from their rural homes for treatment. It is situated inside the premises of the Cancer institute Maharagama and allows patients easy access to their treatment.


The donations, which were contributions from the SriLankan Airlines’ staff, consisted essential items such as milk powder, samaposha, biscuits, baby cream, baby soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc., SriLankan Cares donated a total of 540 packs containing these items.  


Since its inception, SriLankan Cares has been bringing together the national carrier’s many programmes that have each been independently working towards the company’s goal of supporting the needy children throughout Sri Lanka.


It is also involved in many infrastructure development projects, scholarships,seminars and workshops enhancing the quality of health and education for children.


Ever since the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Airlines’ CSR arm has undertaken several initiatives to donate essential medical aid to hospitals which includes the donations of infusions pumps to the Pediatric Cardiology Unit of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital, BI-level ventilators to the National Hospital of Colombo and high flow oxygen machine to the Colombo East Hospital.
