President and CEO of Canon Singapore Pte Ltd, Kensaku Konishi arrived in Sri Lanka this morning on the invitation of Metropolitan Group, Canon’s local agent for the past 35-years.

 Konishi’s visit marks the launching of the first signature Image Square in Sri Lanka in line with hundreds of similar Image Square specialty stores in large Asian markets. This signifies the importance placed by Canon on Sri Lanka, considered a fast growing market in the consumer imaging industry.

He will be meeting key business partners and entrepreneurs during his short stay and assess the local market and its growth for future investment and development.

Konishi was appointed President and CEO for the Asia region after a successful and growth driver tenure as President and CEO of Canon India Pvt. Ltd, Canon Hong Kong Co. Ltd. and Canon Marketing Singapore. Based in Singapore, where Canon’s regional headquarters for the South and Southeast Asia region is located, Konishi is responsible for leading and overseeing the operations in the fastest growing region which spans across 18 countries, including Sri Lanka.

The Metropolitan Group, has been the local distributor for Canon range of products in Sri Lanka for the last four decades. The range includes digital professional, compact and video cameras, copiers, printers, scanners and related consumables.
