A unit of IFS Sri Lanka was appraised at Level 3 Capability Maturity Mode Integration (CMMI) certification by KPMG recently.

A Level 3 appraisal indicates that an organization is performing at a defined level where processes are well characterized, understood and described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The first assessment of its kind to be conducted in Sri Lanka for consultancy service and support, CMMI is a standardized method for process improvement within service delivery that provides organizations with the essential elements necessary to promote more efficient performance.

The certification is also expected to help IFS Sri Lanka to take its sales and consultancy services global, according to Managing Director Jayantha de Silva.

“Competition in the IT sector on a global scale is constantly increasing. Therefore it is important that the Sri Lankan industry finds a way to differentiate itself. High-quality standards and service delivery like what IFS has just been awarded is one such differentiator.”

The appraisal is a major endorsement of our consistently high-quality service delivery and we will continue to improve efficiencies in order to further benefit our customers. Furthermore, we will now be able to offer our services to any IFS implementation around the world that requires a vendor with CMMI Level 3 standards, De Silva noted.

The sales and consulting unit of IFS South Asia markets implements and supports IFS Applications in the region. The organization services more than 80 installations with some 10,000 users across Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Thailand.

The customer base covers a wide industry spectrum including manufacturing, retail, automotive, banking, property management, and facilities management. (CF)
