Lanka Walltile PLC has acquired 13.59 percent of Lanka Tiles PLC in a deal worth over Rs.575 million. The purchase was executed at Rs.80 per share.

Subsequent to the deal, Lanka Walltiles now holds 36.1 million shares or 68 percent of Lanka Tiles PLC.

The main sellers of the shares were the Kailasapillai-related parties. Unconfirmed market sources said Union Assurance also divested their holding in the company. Union Assurance held 455, 200 Lanka Tile shares as at September 30, 2013.

Both Lanka Walltile and Lanka Tiles are controlled by Vallibel One, an investment holding company controlled by Dhammika Perera.

Sri Lanka will also take steps to recognize the Tour Operators based in the UK, who helped to send the largest number of tourists to Sri Lanka from UK. They will be recognized during the London, World Travel Market.
