Ran FM formally launched "Ran FM Jaya Apatai", a nationwide campaign in support of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team at Temple Trees on Saturday, the 8th of January 2011.
The unveiling ceremony started off with the Signature Campaign. President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the first to affix his signature on a branded Ran FM cricket bat.
Ryan Honter, the executive director of Colombo Communications said, "We are all incredibly thrilled to launch Ran FM Jaya Apatai.
This campaign was conceptualised to reflect our insatiable hunger and passion for the game.
"More important, Ran FM Jaya Apatai pledges our unyielding and utmost support to the Sri Lankan Cricket Team."
The Signature Campaign is one of the series of promotions under the Ran FM Jaya Apatai Campaign that the station launched.
Elaborating more about Ran FM "Jaya Apatai", Ran FM Assistant Marketing Director Rizvan Musafer explained, "For the Signature Campaign, we will be touring the country to solicit as many signatures from cricket and non-cricket enthusiasts and this will be presented to the Sri Lankan Cricket Team.
"There will be musical shows featuring the country's top performing artists, on-air competitions, outdoor promotions such as a papare band on a double decker, and raffle draws. I am also excited to announce that two of the biggest prizes that we are giving away are the 100 return air tickets to India and a brand new car."
Ran FM, since its launch, has been known for its creative programming and its innovative radio promotions and is now recognized as one of the premier radio channels in the country.
The station has earned its special niche in the market with its unique blend of '70s and '80s Sinhalese music.
Colombo Communications Senior Marketing Director Tarene Fernando concluded by saying, "Ran FM Jaya Apatai wouldn't have been possible without our sponsors; we are also very grateful to get Nestomalt involved as well as Kottu Mee, Airtel, KIK Cola, Emerald and Micro. We are also grateful for the support of Swarnavahini."
Colombo Communications Ltd., which is a subsidiary of the EAP Edirisinghe Company, owns and operates Ran FM, E FM, and Shree FM.
