Sri Lanka–India Naval Exercise (SLINEX) -23 came to a successful conclusion in the Colombo seas yesterday. Commenced on 03rd April, SLINEX -23 marked yet another milestone in maritime cooperation between the two neighboring countries. A luxury motor vehicle met with an accident on Galle road opposite Temple Trees early this morning. The motorist reportedly lost control of the vehicle which toppled and caught fire. Two fire trucks were dispatched to douse the fire while the driver and a passenger have been taken to the Kollupitiya Police Station.

Utpala Kumarasinghe, the most senior pilot of SriLankan Airlines, who has completed over 40 years of service, retired from his distinguished service. The aircraft which he commandeered for the last time in his career as a senior pilot, touched down at the Katunayake Airport last afternoon.
