Borrowing for keeps!

The main character of this story is the sole government party Diyawanna member elected from a far-away district. This member known to maintain a very close friendly relationship with all his Diyawanna colleagues, often addressing them as Aiya or Malli had the other day given a telephone call to the highest office in the administration.

He had, in fact, given this phone call to seek a vehicle from the fleet maintained by this highest office for him to get back home as his own vehicle had purportedly broken down.
The authorities  of the transport Division of this office had taken pity on the Diyawanna member and had released a vehicle from the fleet to enable him to get back home in the distant district.

However, the Diyawanna member had failed to keep the promise of returning the borrowed vehicle even after two to three months! He had even avoided answering telephone calls given to him in this connection.

Later investigations had revealed that this Diyawanna member had even failed to return a vehicle borrowed from the office of the Number Two as well some time ago!
