A Diyawanna politico at state purohita level hailing from a city of historical importance  had suddenly sacked a personal aide who had been functioning in a responsible capacity. 

This personal aide had been sacked following an inquiry held into an allegation of bribery made against him by a member of the public, they say.

Both the politico and the personal aide had been batchmates at the university.
