Speaking to Daily Mirror, Head of Marketing Ashan Fernando stated that Top tea manufacturer Maturata Plantations announced an all-time record price obtained by Gonapitiya Tea Factory in Mandaramnuwara. Gonapitiya obtained Rs.1,080.00 for a line of Uva High FF1 grade at the weekly e-Auctions held on the 14th of February 2022, surpassing the previous record price of Rs.1,040.00.  The line purchased by one of the main exporters in the trade M/s Inter Tea (Pvt) Ltd.  The sale was passed through M/s Bartleet Produce Marketing (Pvt) Ltd.
