Adjournment debate tomorrow on holding timely Presidential election

Parliament, July 10 (Daily Mirror)- Party leaders representing Parliament agreed to take up an adjournment debate tomorrow on holding the Presidential election within the specified time period as per the Constitution, the Communications Department of Parliament said.

The debate is to be moved jointly by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella and NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake on holding the Presidential election between September 17 and October 16, 2024 as per the Constitution and other relevant laws.

The decision to hold the debate has been taken at the Committee on Parliamentary Business convened under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardhane.
