Amid heavy rains A/L candidates advised to use nearest exam centres

Colombo, November 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Examinations today advised Advanced Level (A/L) candidates to report to the nearest examination centres if they are unable to reach their assigned centres due to disasters caused by the heavy rains.  

The announcement was made by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) as part of a joint initiative between the DMC and the Department of Examinations.  

DMC Media Assistant Director Janaka Kandunpathiraja stated that adverse weather has caused incidents such as flash floods, landslides and fallen trees in the Ampara, Batticaloa, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts.
