Cabinet approves salary increase for government employees

Colombo, August 22 (Daily Mirror) -  The Cabinet has approved a salary increase for all public servants, effective from January 2025, as announced today by the Expert Committee on Public Service Salary Disparities, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

Accordingly, Committee Chairman Udaya Seneviratna stated that the salary hike will range from 24% for lower-grade employees to 24%–50% for higher-ranking positions. 

Seneviratna further explained that the increments will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and current job roles.
