Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) -  The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court issued a restraining order preventing a planned protest march by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) employees’ union tomorrow near the Polduwa Junction in the Welikada police area.

This legal action follows a request by the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Welikada Police, invoking the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Police confirmed the court's decision, stating that the order prohibits the union's secretary, Ranjan Jayalal, its members and any other participants from staging the protest march tomorrow (24).

The court order also prohibits the demonstration from obstructing vehicular movements and pedestrian pathways.
