Deadline for Presidential Election cash deposits ends; 40 candidates

Colombo, August 14 (Daily Mirror) -  The window for placing cash deposits for the upcoming presidential election closed today at 12 noon. 

As of this morning, 40 candidates had made their deposits.

With this deadline passed, the election process moves into its next phase. Tomorrow, the official nominations of candidates will be accepted between 9 am and 11 am. 

This brief two-hour window will confirm the final list of individuals who will be on the ballot for the presidential race.
