Colombo, August 9 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation (STC) today announced that the import of eggs will resume within the next 10 days.
STC chairman Asiri Valisundara said the related procurement activities are currently underway.
Accordingly, it is planned to import 30 million eggs per month, he said.
After importing the sticks of eggs, an egg will be sold in the local market for less than Rs. 50.
Currently, an egg is being sold at a price of more than Rs. 50 in the local market.
