Colombo, October 31 (Daily Mirror) - The Examinations Department must assure students and parents that the 2024 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examinations will be conducted smoothly, without any issues, Ceylon Teachers' Union (CTU) General Secretary Joseph Stalin said.

Addressing the media, he noted that students and parents have lost confidence in the secure conduct of the GCE (A/L) examinations.

Therefore, the Commissioner of Examinations must take necessary precautions and actions to ensure that the 2024 (A/L) examinations proceed without complications.

He reminded the media of the incident involving the leak of papers one and two of the 2023 (A/L) agriculture examination. As a result, the exam had to be held again, and it was the innocent students who had suffered, having to sit for the exam twice.

However, no punitive action has yet been taken against those responsible for the leak, Stalin added.
