Extreme weather leaves over 250,000 persons affected

Colombo, June 05 (Daily Mirror) - Some 253,581 persons from 66,906 families across thirteen districts have been affected by the adverse weather conditions, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).   

Accordingly, people in Ratnapura, Colombo, Kegalle, Kandy, Galle, Kalutara, Matara, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya, Kilinochchi and Gampaha have been affected.  

Further, a total of 4,303 houses have been partially damaged while 42 houses have been completely damaged owing to the bad weather.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to the inclement weather stands at 30 as of today (05).
