Fire kills husband and wife in Yatiyanthota

Colombo, July 03 (Daily Mirror) - Two people have died in a fire that broke out this morning (July 3) in a row of estate houses in the Palallegama area of Yatiyanthota.

The victims, identified as 60-year-old Mukkan Weerasingham and his 50-year-old wife, Muttiah Shanti Devi, were a married couple.

According to police, it has been revealed that the fire may have been caused by an electrical leak. Three estate houses were damaged by the fire.

Further investigations are currently being conducted by the Yatiyanthota Police.
