First death after falling from train reported amid strike

Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - Due to the ongoing train strike, the first death was reported after two commuters fell from a train in the Batuwatta-Bemmulla area, the Railways Department said.

The train was travelling from Colombo Fort to Polgahawela this evening when the passengers fell while riding on the footboard.

One person was killed and another injured in the accident, which was caused by the overcrowded train.
