Heavy rains after 2 pm today, watch out for lightning

Thundershowers will occur in most parts of the country after 2 p.m today and it may cause damages due to temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers may occur at a few places in the Northern and Eastern Provinces and in the Hambantota district during the morning too.

Meanwhile, heavy showers of about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern Provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

Therefore, the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
