Heavy showers expected in several provinces

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory forecasting heavy showers above 75 mm in certain regions of the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. 

According to the latest forecast, showers or thundershowers are anticipated in several areas across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-Western, and Uva Provinces, along with the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Residents of the North-Central Province should also be prepared for showers or thundershowers during the evening or night, while coastal areas from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota may experience showers or thundershowers in the morning. 

Furthermore, misty conditions are likely in certain areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces during the morning hours.
