Increase in cash deposit will not be implemented this year: Leader of the House

The increase of the deposit money that has to be placed by the candidates contesting a Presidential election will not come into effect this year, Leader of the House Susil Premajayantha told Parliament today.

The Minister said this in response to MP Dullas Alahaperuma who wanted the proposed increase implemted before this year's Presidential election.
