Jacqueline Fernandez appeared at Delhi’s Patiala House Court in connection with the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar case.

The actress is currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the INR 200 crore extortion case.

In the latest development, Jacqueline has filed an application with the court seeking permission to travel to Bahrain from December 23, 2022.

The court has instructed ED to share a response and has listed the application for December 22, 2022.

On August 17, 2022, ED filed a supplementary chargesheet in a Delhi court concerning the INR 200 crore money laundering case. In the chargesheet, ED named Jacqueline as an accused.

The actress was blamed for willingly accepting the gifts given by Sukesh and sharing them with her family members in Sri Lanka.

Seeing her involvement in the forgery, ED restrained the actress from flying outside India. She is obliged to join the ongoing money-laundering investigation conducted by ED from time to time.

Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar is accused of deceiving several renowned personalities. The ED is currently probing matters involving Sukesh and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul. Jacqueline had a romantic relationship with Sukesh and admitted that the gifts given to her were a mere token of love and not proceeds of the fraud.

Recently, Nora Fatehi filed a defamation lawsuit against Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the Sukesh Chandrashekhar extortion case.

The actress has accused Jacqueline and a few media houses for tarnishing her reputation and spoiling her work prospects in the industry. (The Economic Times)
