Jaffna, Dec 17 (Daily Mirror) - The Director's Office of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital has notified MP Ramanathan Archchuna that he will only be allowed entry to the hospital as a patient, and for no other reason.
This decision follows a ruling by the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court, which granted Archchuna personal bail of Rs 100,000 yesterday, in a case filed against him. The case has been postponed to February 7, 2025.
The Court also imposed restrictions on Archchuna's access to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, ordering that he must obtain prior permission from the hospital administration if he wishes to enter.
In line with this directive, the hospital administration has informed the MP that he will not be allowed to enter the premises for any purpose other than as a patient.
Furthermore, the hospital has instructed its security personnel to hand over the MP to the Jaffna Police if he attempts to enter without the necessary authorisation.
The security officers have been directed to do so without using force or engaging in harassment.
