Colombo, Dec. 4 (Daily Mirror) - The defending League champions, Kandy Sports Club will travel to Colombo for the first time this season when they lock horns against Army SC in their Nippon Paint Inter-Club Rugby Tournament fixture at Panagoda today. The kick-off is at 3.45 p.m.
Army SC faced a heavy 8-55 defeat at the hands of CR and FC last week at home and will be hoping to make a comeback in order to boost their confidence.
But it will not be an easy task for the Soldiers to bounce back against the champion Kandy outfit, which beat the CH and FC 22-13 last week with a bonus point.
Army SC are led by former Vidyartha College player, Ashan Bandara and have some good players such as Sudaraka Dikkumbura, Nalaka Maduranga and Chamath Fernando in their starting line-up.
Meanwhile, Kandy SC are led by former Kingswoodian and national player, Lavanga Perera.
Their back division looks very strong and they can create gaps with any opponents.
Tharinda Ratwatte, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Diluksha Dange and Nigel Ratwatte are all top players having represented the country at Asian level.
In forwards play, their towering second rower, Thilina Bandara looked in great form against the CH and FC and will be hoping for a repeat performance.
