Landslide warning issued for Galle, Kalutara

Colombo, October 7 (Daily Mirror) - The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a Level II landslide warning for Nagoda and Elpitiya in the Galle district, as well as the Wallawita area in the Kalutara district.

This warning is effective from 9:30 a.m. today till tomorrow.

In addition, a Level I landslide warning has been declared for Niagama in the Galle district, Dehiovita in the Kegalle district and Pitabaddara in the Matara district.

Residents in these areas are advised to be watchful for sudden appearance of water sprouts, cracks on walls and on the soil as these may be signs of impending landslides, according to NBRO.
