Lankan drug trafficker arriving by Indian fishing boat arrested at Wennappuwa beach

Wennappuwa, August 11 (Daily Mirror) - A Sri Lankan national who arrived on the shores of Thal Deka (Kadawatha), Wennappuwa by an Indian fishing boat was arrested during a coordinated operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police. 

Acting on information provided by Naval Intelligence, the Wennappuwa Police arrested the individual while attempting to secretly disembark on the shores of Thal Deka. It has been revealed that the suspect was previously arrested in India in 2021 for his involvement in drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, the Wennappuwa Police are carrying out further investigations and will proceed with legal action against the suspect and the Indian fishing boat.
