Colombo, July 31 (Daily Mirror)- Claiming that more than 70 MPs of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have pledged their support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, State Minister Piyal Nishanatha said another group of SLPP MPs will join the President within the next few days.
He told a news conference that the SLPP politburo comprises only a small group and that if the opinion of all the members had been sought, the situation would have been different.
He said the decision not to support the President is a conspiracy of a handful of people.
"This decision can still be changed.," he said.
