Colombo, August 6 (Daily Mirror) - While making statements on the political stage to build the morality of the young generation, the National People’s Power (NPP) is misleading them and putting them in danger, Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera said.
Addressing the media, he said some NPP members have started making hate speeches and insult the Sinhala Buddhist people, putting the young generation in danger.
"These same politicians just switch to new political symbols. There's nothing new about them. All politicians introduce a new political symbol if they are defeated under their previous one," he said.
"These days, the NPP is gaining a lot of attention among the younger generation. As the BBS, we are alert to the statements they make and their usage. Recently, NPP members have insulted the Maha Sangha," he said.
Gnanasara Thera requested the NPP to put an end to hate speeches and come for an open debate.
The NPP should remember that if the hopes and expectations of the youth are not realized, the people will make the same decision they made to depose former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
