Namal Rajapaksa pauses political activities in Jaffna

Colombo, Sep 1 (Daily Mirror) - SLPP Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa said that he will temporarily halt all political activities in Jaffna until the conclusion of the Nallur Ther (chariot) festival. 

"I have decided not to engage in any political activities in Jaffna until the Nallur Ther festival concludes. This decision is out of respect for the cultural significance of Jaffna and the Nallur Temple. I believe it is important to honour and preserve these traditions during such a sacred time," Rajapaksa said.
