Namal anticipates young Tamil leader from SLPP

Colombo - National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Namal Rajapaksa expressed his willingness to see a young Tamil leader elected to Parliament representing the SLPP in the future.

Speaking on a private TV station, he said this leader could potentially go on to be a prime minister or president in future.  

“We are currently working closely with some young people from the Tamil community. We would like to see a political leader from the North representing the SLPP in Parliament in the future.” Rajapaksa noted.
