New Acting Controller General for Immigration office

Colombo, October 1 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of Ms. B.M.D. Nilusha Balasooriya as the Acting Controller General of Immigration and Emigration with immediate effect.

Cabinet spokesman and Minister Vijitha Herath stated that the appointment was made following the remanding of former Controller General I.S.H.J. Illukpitiya on a Supreme Court order dated September 25, 2024.

The proposal was presented by the Public Security Minister. 

Ms. Balasooriya, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, currently serves as an Additional Secretary in the Public Security Ministry.
