Colombo, October 1 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to appoint a new Director General for the Government Information Department with immediate effect on a full-time acting basis.
The announcement was made by Cabinet spokesman and Minister Vijith Herath today.
The appointment was made as Dinith Chinthaka Karunarathne, who served as the Director General of Government Information, has resigned from the post.
The proposal was made by the the Buddhism, Religious and Cultural Affairs, National Integration, Social Security and Mass Media Minister to appoint H.S.K.J. Bandara.
Bandara is a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service who serves as Director (Admin) of the Department of Government Information at present.
