Nominations of all 39 candidates accepted: Objections rejected

Colombo, August 15 (Daily Mirror) - The Elections Commission announced that the nominations of all 39 candidates have been accepted for the 2024 Presidential election.

Despite three objections being submitted, they were rejected for not being in accordance with the relevant provisions.

A total of 39 out of the 40 candidates who placed their deposits submitted their nominations today at the Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya.

The nomination process concluded at 11:00 a.m.

Accordingly, the Presidential election will be held on September 21 from 7 am to 4 pm.
