The Department of Immigration & Emigration has launched the Online Passport Appointment System to make it easier for applicants to register for passport applications.

Applicants can now access the Online Passport Appointment System in three languages, effective immediately.

To apply for a Sri Lankan passport, applicants must complete prior registration via https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/MakeAppointments/

Applications from registered applicants will be accepted from today.

New applicants, those renewing existing passports and those replacing lost passports can register through this new system.

The prior-registration system is valid for both the One Day Service and the Normal Service.

A valid National Identity Card (NIC) number and mobile phone number are required for registration. Applicants must also present their NIC when submitting passport applications.

For children under 16, the NIC number of a parent must be provided during registration to obtain a passport.
