June 19 - Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has filed a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company over its marketing of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In the lawsuit, Kobach alleges that the company made misleading claims about the efficacy of the vaccine and that it hid evidence of the shot’s connection to other health issues.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2021 added a warning about myocarditis and pericarditis to the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The complaint argues that Pfizer’s statements about the vaccine violate the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.

Kobach’s lawsuit is seeking monetary damages based in part on the total number of violations for which Pfizer is ultimately found guilty, if any. Pfizer said in a statement that the case has no merit and that the company prioritizes patient safety, according to a report by The Hill.
