Colombo, June 17 (Daily Mirror) - The distrupted water supply in several areas in the Homagama suburb due to the bursting of the transmission pipeline from the Kalatuwawa treatment plant, will be restored by midnight today (17), the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) said.

A senior official of the NWS&DB said that due to the bursting of the transmission pipeline water supply was interrupted for more than thousands of housing units in the areas of Godagama, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Rukmalgama, Palanwatta and Mattegoda.

The incident had occurred at 2 a.m after a car ran off the road and collided with a large pipe carrying water from the Labugama Reservoir to Colombo.

The official also said that the driver of the car was to be produced before court.
