Podi Lassi’s accomplice arrested with stock of weapons

The STF has arrested an accomplice of organized criminal Janith Madusanka de Silva alias 'Podi Lassi' with a stock firearms and ammunition at a house at Wathugedara in Ambalangoda.

A T-6 assault riffle, four T-56 magazines, 98 rounds of T-56 ammunition, 53 rounds of 9mm ammunition, four Bore-12 ammunition, a pistol, two smoke grenades, a hand grenade and a set of handcuffs used by the police were among the stock.

The suspect was arrested in a joint raid carried out by the STF of the Colombo and Rathgama STF Camps this morning.

Gangster Podi Lassi is currently detained at the Boosa Prison.

Earlier, the police also arrested  Podi Lassi's mother for handling money earned from drug trafficking.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya and D.G. Sugathapala)
