Police search for suspect who assaulted a 4-year-old child

June 4 (Daily Mirror) - A police investigation was launched over a video circulating on social media of a man brutally assaulting a 4-year-old child while he was eating at home.

The suspect, identified as Kukul Chaminda alias Bibile Chaminda, is a resident of Sampathanuwara in Padaviya. 

A neighbour had recorded a video which was released on social media, of the particular suspect brutally assaulting the child while he was eating at his home.

According to information the suspect had assaulted this child on several previous occasions as well, but nobody had informed the police in fear of him.

Meanwhile, a group of officers, including the Sampathanuwara police station OIC, had raided the house. The suspect had fled the house, and police are conducting a search operation to locate him.
