Postal vote applications dates for General Elections announced

The Election Commission has announced that applications for postal voting at the upcoming General Elections will be accepted from October 1 to October 8. 

The Commissioner General of Elections confirmed that the General Elections are scheduled to be held on November 14.
 

An Extraordinary Gazette notification issued by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, dissolving the Parliament of Sri Lanka effective from midnight on the 24th, was published recently.

Accordingly, the nomination period will take place from October 4 until 12 noon on October 11, 2024, while the new Parliament is scheduled to convene on November 21, 2024.
