President appoints committees in response to global developments

Colombo, July 31 (Daily Mirror) - In light of potential global and Middle Eastern developments, including the assassination of a Hamas political leader in Iran, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to establish a national security committee, an economic committee and a high-level committee to oversee their activities.

This initiative aims to prepare Sri Lanka for any security and economic impacts that may arise from these international events. 

The Presidential Media Division (PMD) announced that these committees will work collaboratively to ensure the nation's preparedness and resilience in the face of evolving global circumstances.
